چکیده
The implementation of a structural material into the hot section turbine engine requires protection against oxidation and water vapour. Since Mo-Si-based alloys do not provide this on their own over long period exposure time, necessity for protective coatings becomes inevitable. Rare earth silicates, especially Yb-silicates, are known great potential to protect silica vapour recession also behaviour due low reactivity. Reactive pulsed DC co-sputtering was investigated used produce two-layered coating Yb2Si2O7 Yb2SiO5. layers were implemented four-layered environmental barrier system combined with bond coat consisting graded Mo-Si interlayer thin Si top layer intended form slow-growing silica. EBCs tested up 100 h at 1200 °C 800 isothermally in air three different show promise protection. pesting phenomenon completely suppressed.

Stresses in Ytterbium Silicate Multilayer Environmental Barrier Coatings
The internal stresses of plasma-sprayed multilayer ytterbium disilicate environmental barrier coatings were measured using microfocused high-energy X-rays in a transmission geometry. Stresses were measured for as-sprayed and ex-situ heat-treated ytterbium disilicate topcoats at room temperature and during in-situ heating and cooling experiments. In-situ loading experiments were also performed o...
متن کاملOptimizaton of Mo-Si-B Intermetallic Alloys
Mo-Si-B intermetallics consisting of the phases Mo3Si and Mo5SiB2, and a molybdenum solid solution (“ -Mo”), have melting points on the order of 2000 °C. These alloys have potential as oxidationresistant ultra-high-temperature structural materials. They can be designed with microstructures containing either individual -Mo particles or a continuous -Mo phase. A compilation of existing data shows...
متن کاملStructure of Sputtered Amorphous Zr-Hf-Si Alloys
Amorphous (Zr,Hf)37Si63 alloys were produced by sputtering. Their total structure factors were determined by X-ray diffraction. Using the methods of isomorphous substitution and Reverse Monte Carlo simulation, the partial pair correlation functions were obtained. The results were compared with the partial functions of amorphous Ti40Si60. In the amorphous alloys under investigation the transitio...
متن کاملMo-Si-B alloys for ultrahigh-temperature structural applications.
A continuing quest in science is the development of materials capable of operating structurally at ever-increasing temperatures. Indeed, the development of gas-turbine engines for aircraft/aerospace, which has had a seminal impact on our ability to travel, has been controlled by the availability of materials capable of withstanding the higher-temperature hostile environments encountered in thes...
متن کاملLifetime Studies of Mo/Si and MO/Be Multilayer Coatings for Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography
Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUVL) is a candidate for future application by the semiconductor industry in the production of sub-100 nm feature sizes in integrated circuits. Using multilayer reflective coatings optimized at wavelengths ranging from 11 to 14 nm, EUVL represents a potential successor to currently existing optical lithography techniques. In order to assess lifetimes of the mult...
